Fitting

Bike fitting is the procedure to determine the relevant positions of the contact points on the bicycle, namely the pedals, the saddle and the handlebars. To ensure optimum efficiency and maximum comfort these components need to be set in the correct position relative to each other, the saddle relative to the pedals and the bars relative to the saddle.

Because the position you have on the bike can make the experience of cycling more enjoyable, more comfortable and more efficient with a good posture, and very uncomfortable and potentially injury inducing with a poor posture, Hewitt cycles feel it is crucial to determine the positional dimensions first, so that whatever bike we build can be set to a suitable position for the intended user. We offer this service free of charge with every bicycle or frame purchased from us.

The bike fitting is best done prior to purchasing a bicycle or frame, as a lot of the parameters are determined by the frame and consequently the position you require may not be achievable if the dimensions of the frame are unsuitable.

Whilst we feel it is best to determine your optimum position on our frame fitting jig, which would mean a visit to our shop in Leyland, Lancashire, there are other options, please click here for more information.
